Video of the Day: W.A.S.P.
Alright, so I’ve never been a big fan of W.A.S.P. This is probably a direct result of that famous scene in the Decline of Western Civilization. You know the one…Chris Holmes drinking himself to death in front of his mother. After watching that I never cared much for Chris Holmes, and by extension, W.A.S.P. as a whole. But I am a big fan of a good ballad, and W.A.S.P. makes some of the best. Just thought I’d share a few:
How do you even argue with this? Such a beautiful song.
They sound kind of eerie, don’t they? Kind of like Blackie is trying to put a spell on you.
And finally…one of my favorite W.A.S.P. songs, ever.
Lita Ford apparently did background vocals on that record, too. I swear-you cannot escape that woman no matter how hard you try. I think she had a relationship with every man from every band from the 1980’s. Imean, think about it. Chris Holmes, Nikki Sixx, Toni Iommi…thats three biggies right there. Now she’s married to the singer from Nitro…the kings of overkill.
Speaking of, here is a video to prove it.
I stumbled upon this gem a while back and I still can’t get over the ridiculousness. I understand why you might be able to use a 4-in-1 guitar. but hey…its only rock n roll. We’re not here to show off. If you can’t play your song with one guitar at a time, I think you need to go join another genre. Batio’s 4-neck guitar and Tom Petersson’s 12 string bass both go down on my list of completely unnecessary creations. I should do a post on that…that might be interesting.
I don’t really know much else, but I’ve gotten off topic (waaaay off topic) so I guess I’ll go do something else now. Give me a break. I have exams and I’m sick so I’m allowed to rant about nothing every now and then. Just consider yourself lucky I didn’t go off on a tangent about the Sunset Striplets or something…it could be worse.
