About the Blog

GLAM IT UP! is a blog written as an outlet to discuss topics pertaining to music, art, and anything else that catches my eye. Most of the topics are simply chosen based on my personal interests and what I’m currently obsessing over. My goal with this blog is to simply give myself a place to talk about things that have caught my attention and hopefully catch someone else’s interest and encourage them to check out some really great stuff!

I like to be exposed to a wide variety of people and personalities, and see how they have shaped our world. I’ve found the visual art and music scenes are the best places to go if you want to examine any sort of political/emotional/sociological/etc undercurrents sweeping through society at any given time, because the ideas and experiences that become ingrained in peoples’ souls and are always spilled out in the things that they create. I guess you could say my love for art and music is really not for art’s own sake, but for the sake of uncovering a wealth of information about human existence and the forces that shape our lives and the way they have impacted our generations. I like to try to understand people.That really has nothing to do with why I’m blogging…its just me trying to explain why I love music so much.

I’m not a professional blogger by any means. I just like writing and talking about things I like. If you are an artist or know of a great band you think I should check out…let me know!! I would be more than happy to help you with publicity and give you a good review. I guess I could do an interview or something, too, but “Interview” sounds so…awkwardly formal…and I’d rather just chat. You are also more than welcome to send me  CDs, T-shirts, Concert Tickets, etc etc etc. Just sayin’.

Oh, and I’m also on MYSPACE and YouTube. admittedly, there isn’t a whole lot to see, and I’m terrible at designing webpages so it isn’t very pretty to look at, but if you’re in the mood for some good new music, those are the places where I find and keep track of all my favorite bands, so check out the friendslist or favorite vids.

I love y’all, really I do. I’ve met a lot of friends blogging and surfing around the internet, I’m really thankful for each and every one of you who keeps coming back and listening to what I have to say…sometimes I wonder why And if you’re new, you can be my friend too!
